Adrian Burney is an accomplished executive director and board member from Fort Wayne, Indiana, currently residing in Indianapolis.

With over 20 years of experience in the barbering industry, Adrian has served as a barber educator, barbershop owner, and now holds the prestigious position of executive director at Mended Arrows Academy of Barbering Inc.

Adrian has made significant contributions to the field through his creation of the T(hair)apy Cuts Mentoring program. This innovative initiative utilizes the platform of barbering and the influence of a barber to mentor at-risk youth and young adults. By providing a safe space for them to unpack trauma, build self-esteem, and explore potential career opportunities in barbering,

Adrian aims to empower and positively impact the lives of these individuals. Passionate about community integration, Adrian aspires to expand his program into community schools and justice centers, ensuring that his valuable services reach those who need them most.

As a dedicated professional and advocate for youth, Adrian Burney is truly making a difference in the lives of young people, one haircut at a time.

Armand graduated from Indiana University McKinney School of Law, Class of 2021 and Lake Forest College, Class of 2015. Armand is a attorney for Finish Line and his volunteer experience includes: The Richard Decker Scholarship Fund, Member Finish Line Youth Foundation.

Armand is from Cleveland, Ohio and currently has been living in Indianapolis for the past 7 years. Armand is a passionate about providing individuals within his community access to educational, networking, and professional opportunities to help them achieve their personal goals. Armand enjoys cooking, and watching football and basketball.

Jessica Downer born and raised in Gary, Indiana residing in Fishers, Indiana has a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Indiana University-Bloomington, and a Master of Health Administration 2012, from University of Phoenix.

Jessica currently serves as a Family Case Manager Supervisor for the Department of Child Services. Jessica has volunteer experience as a Big Sister with Big Brother Big Sister of Southern Indiana. Her passion is caring for others who are in need and coming alongside of people in the most vulnerable of times by offering love, insight, and advice.

Jessica comes from a big family and enjoys spending time with friends and family, Jessica is excited about the mission of Mended Arrows Academy of Barbering as anticipates utilizing her passion for others to help Mended Arrows fulfill its charitable mission.

Carla Clark is ecstatic to be a board member for Mended Arrows Academy of Barbering and to help move the mission of assisting others in becoming role models in their communities in any way she can. Carla is from Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She went to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology.

Carla has been married for 16 years. Her and her husband have two wonderful sons, she considers a mother to be a honor. In addition to her busy schedule Carla is also currently a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated.

Her sorority is founded on the principles of education and service, which happen to be what she is passionate about. She believes education is one of sole things that helps to shape who we are and who we are to become.

She has volunteered her time at organizations such as: The Coburn Place Safe Haven, The Wheeler Mission, IPS school #80, The One Hundred Black Men of Indianapolis, and participated in the Walk for Suicide prevention. Carla occupations have included General Manager at Target stores, and now she is currently the site HRM for Amazon.

Krystal is passionate about helping organizations make the most data informed decisions. Krystal is a researcher that helps local nonprofit organizations assess program effectiveness, develop evaluation infrastructure, and translate complex policy issues.

Prior to working in research and evaluation, Krystal worked with nonprofit organizations for nearly 10 years, providing direct services to youth and families who had been impacted by systemic injustices.

This work cultivated a spirit of empathy and gave her a foundational understanding about the people and communities she works with her in career of social service. Krystal received her Master of Social Work from Indiana University

Linnea is a Talent Acquisition Partner with 5 years of Recruiting experience. Linnea began her career in the nonprofit sector serving as a Program Services Manager for almost 10 years. Linnea specializes in identifying and eliminating barriers for the underserved population.

A Chicago native with a degree in Human Services from Cornerstone University and a devotion to help those in need. Linnea hopes to start her own Recruitment and Consulting business soon. Linnea is passionate about helping individuals find sustainable employment but also helping to eliminate barriers like lack of transportation and housing, that can ultimately cause unemployment. Linnea recognizes that finding a job can be easy yet truly understands that maintaining employment is often a challenge for many.

Linnea understands that to effectively communicate we must realize that we are all different in the way we perceive the world and use this understanding as a guide to help communicate with others. Linnea believes this has been key to her career’s success.
